Hi! Thanks for checking in. I’m Jackie, mother to my precious girl Emma Ruby, fur baby mother to our Miniature Australian Shepard Dixie and wife to my wonderful and supportive husband Jeff. Although a BC girl, we now live in the Canadian prairies and I enjoy every bit of the beautiful fields and open skies. And no, we cannot see our dog run away for days!

My mother taught me to sew when I was a child, however I didn’t really get into sewing until I found out I was pregnant. Shortly after the birth of Emma I opened my Etsy shop and it hasn’t stopped! Before my maternity leave was over I started this website and blog in order to share more photos and connect with other moms with similar interests.

I also work part time as an Industrial Hygienist at a local potash mine. And because you are probably wondering, an Industrial Hygienist has nothing to do with a Dental Hygienist (I get asked that all the time). Industrial hygiene involves protecting workers from chemical, biological and physical exposures. Dust, noise, heat, etc. (worker’s health). Health has always been a passion of mine, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to complete my MSc at UBC in Occupational and Environmental Hygiene.

I love what I do at work, but I also love having a creative outlet. Sewing is my time, where I can relax and enjoy what I am doing and just be ME. It has also been a life saver for me to have my sewing when my husband is out of town working for long periods of time. It keeps me busy and my mind occupied. Emma and I also have a lot of fun together taking photos of my products.

My blog is about sharing my adventures of being a mom, my sewing projects, my career, being an entrepreneur, a wife and trying to figure out how it all fits together. I hope you join me for the ride and share some of your experiences along the way too. I always love to hear from you 🙂

Here I am ….30 this year, ah! Read more on my BLOG HERE.
