Let’s talk about what the One Room Challenge is. Have you heard of it? It’s a biannual event that is held every spring and fall. Anyone with a blog or Instagram account is welcome to join the fun. It goes over 8 weeks and each week we share an Instagram or Blog post with an update on on our room. It’s a fun way to connect with other like minded people and be able to encourage each other through all the ups and downs of renovating! You can check out all the other participants HERE.

Week 7 Update:

Click the following weeks for past updates:

  • I used 1×4 to trim out the basement, the top and bottom. I cut, sanded and finished the boards with one coat of satin varathane. I also put trim around the doors and around the furnace ducting. There’s a little left, but I’ll finish it this week.
  • I changed all the door knobs for new ones to create a more modern, cohesive look! It’s truly amazon how big of a difference changing out the hardware made! Explore Hardware sent these knobs over and they are having a huge black friday sale now, check it out HERE.

NOTE: I LOVE the door knobs, but do want to mention they are quite tight/stiff to turn. I’m starting to get used to it, but something to consider for little people or elderly.
